We are very proud to share the news that the Northstowe Festival of Running 2022 helped raise funds for our schools and partnering charity organisations.
All schools and charity partners got free entries to the races and were able to use them to recruit runners to run on their behalf and over the weekend we have seen some amazing running teams.
We continue to support local schools by donating the entry fee from the Northstowe Family Mile. Thanks to 173 participants who registered to run we have £439.75 to be split between Hatton Park Primary School, The Pathfinder C of E Primary School, Northstowe Secondary College and Martin Bacon Academy. Also, after the event, we visited primary schools with some goodies we have left from the weekend.
A massive thanks to our sponsors: Fit Again Sports Therapy, Over Power Fitness, Phoenix Events (East) Ltd, Greenbelt Group, Tylers, Homes England and Tesco Bar Hill, thanks to their support we can offer our charities free entries to the races as well as donate the proceedings from the Family Mile run to our schools.
For charities, Care Network Cambridgeshire, Power2Inspire and Richmond Fellowship the involvement with the event was more than just raising money. They had an amazing opportunity to showcase their mission and increase awareness about the amazing work they do every day to help people in their everyday struggles.
“It was fantastic to be a part of Northstowe Running Festival as an official charity partner, and by hosting inclusive sports for families to try out. Immediately after setting up, we had families playing together with our equipment – it was great to see, and goes to show our games are accessible and enjoyed by everybody. It was an honour to cheer on the runners, and the day had a lovely atmosphere with great community spirit. Thank you to everyone who chose to get involved and raise money for our charity. We look forward to supporting future events.”
John Willis, Founder of Power2Inspire
“Northstowe Running Festival was a fabulous event and experience for Care Network to be involved with. It showcases the best of community; everyone coming together to support one another and have fun. It was a privilege to experience this. We were honoured to be chosen as Charity Partners this year – Marcin, Lizz and the volunteer team are great to work with and each year they are building on their success.”
Susie Willis, CEO at Care Network Cambridgeshire
‘We really enjoyed being part of this year’s Northstowe Running Festival. It was great to be out and about in the community and meet so many people. We’re so grateful to everyone involved in the Festival of Running who fundraised who were running and walking on behalf of Richmond Fellowship and to those who donated. The money raised will be used to provide activities for the benefit of people we support’.
Matt Webb, Communications and Marketing Officer, Richmond Fellowship.
