Running; it’s at the heart of the festival. It’s physical. It can improve not only your fitness but also your mental health. It can boost your self-esteem. It can give you solitary headspace or a whole new running family community. You can work at it or use it to relax. You can run fast or slow, short intervals or a very long way. Anyone can get involved – and this is what also makes it a festival – it’s for everyone.
Our festival is not just a celebration of running; we’re celebrating the whole community – all the residents, visitors, local groups, businesses and charities that make it possible for us to all come together and enjoy the event, whether you run it or not!
Northstowe Running Festival is proud to be supporting two new partner charities this year, in addition to continuing our support of our local schools. Care Network Cambridgeshire and Power2Inspire share our values of inclusivity and improved wellbeing in local communities. Both charities work to improve the lives of a huge range of individuals, groups and communities. From inclusive sporting events where everyone can have fun, regardless of age, gender, beliefs, ethnicity or disability to supporting people making the transition from hospital back to independent living; from helping communities to build resilience and social connections to allowing someone to opportunity to take part and develop a lifelong love of a sport; we’re excited to be building partnerships with local charities that have so much to offer our community and are looking forward to seeing their success with support from the Festival.
We are happy to be continuing our support of our local schools too. The hugely popular family mile will be back again in 2022, with the profits split between the four schools, and further to this, each school has the opportunity to raise funds with a presence at the event and sponsored places in the runs!
Multiple attractions will be waiting for you at the festival venue including the hugely popular street food market with a great selection of food and drinks, local craft stalls, displays, outdoor activities and plenty of entertainment and live music on the Northstowe Festival of Running stage.
A weekend full of running and fun!
