A community came together to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the first new-build resident moving into Northstowe and many decided to do so by running.
Matt Webb from Cambridge 105 Radio took care of the pre-race atmosphere and after a warm-up to the good old Macarena tune, the runners lined up on the start line to complete the single lap course around the school and its playing field.
It didn’t take long to see the first smiling faces across the finish line!
At the finish line, each runner received a unique biodegradable seeded medal that can be planted to grow wildflowers, plus Earth Runs (the company producing the medals) plants a tree for every runner! In addition, Greenbelt Group– a proud sponsor of Northstowe Running Festival – donated more wildflower seeds; so step by step we are changing our world for the better! Well done ππ³ππΌππ
The medals were designed by our event manager Lizz with the help of pupils from Hatton Park Primary School.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and thank you to all who came to cheer the runners.
Thank you to South Cambridgeshire District Council, Longstanton & Northstowe Limpers and Northstowe Secondary College for supporting the run.
